Today we celebrate trans folks, friends, and loved ones

March 31 is the International Transgender Day of Visibility (also known as TDOV or Trans Day of Visibility), dedicated to celebrating transgender folks and their achievements, but also a reminder of the stark conditions and harsh discrimination trans folks face in society today.

It's a particularly dangerous time to be a transgender person and worker. From human rights to workplace protections being legislated away to the growing threat of violence, it takes courage every day to just be trans.

But most people are just that — themselves — and don't want to be any kind of hero. And yet, they are heroes. Simply by being themselves.

Stand up for your trans friends and loved ones. React to the discrimination and violence. Lift trans voices and raise awareness.

And above all, celebrate trans folks. 💙💜🤍💜💙

Because Trans Lives Matter.
